Accredited Practising Dietitian
Lisa has been an Accredited Practising Dietitian for 7 years having graduated from The University of Sydney with Bachelor of Science Nutrition (Honours Class 1) and a Bachelor of Applied Science Exercise and Sport Science. Lisa is currently studying a Masters of Philosophy at the University of Newcastle.
As a Dietitian, Lisa has a variety of clinical specialties which include:
- Diabetes – Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational
- Eating Disorders
- Chronic care
- Weight management
- Allergy and intolerance.
Dietitians have the expertise to provide individual dietary counselling, medical nutrition therapy, group dietary therapy and food service management. Dietitians can actually call themselves nutritionists (which can get a bit confusing!)
Lisa has been living on the Coffs Coast for the past 6 years and thoroughly enjoys scuba diving around the Solitary Islands and internationally.
Lisa comes to Hoys Physiotherapy with a client centred approach. Lisa works with a broad range of clients, with referrals from GPs & Specialists as well as private client consultations. Lisa also work closely with the other therapist at Hoys to ensure they manage their nutritional needs while rehabilitating an injury with Physio or starting an exercise program with the Exercise Physiologist
Lisa is a full member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA). Dietitians in Australia who meet strict criteria are eligible to join the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program. APD is the only credential for dietitians recognised by Medicare and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and many private health insurers.
